Dredging visualization and monitoring system

The system features a central information processing server and multiple operator-specific clients that visualize key information in 3D, allowing all operators involved to cooperatively maximize productivity, efficiency and safety.

Function

The product can provide hopper dredgers with the following functions:


  • to acquire over a network signals from sensors (pressures, suction tube angles, digital signals, etc.);

  • to process these signals in real time in order to compute relevant information such as position of the equipment, progress of the work and safety of the dredger;

  • to visualize the process information on multiple locations (captain, dredge master star board, dredge master port side).

Innovative aspects



  • The software is written in C++ using modern software engineering methodologies to provide fast 3-D, real-time representation.

  • The overall system is completely modular, both in terms of software and hardware.

  • Single source of process data (the 'server'), visualized simultaneously at multiple monitors located at different positions (the 'clients').
